FOURTH INTERNATIONAL
Integrative Nursing Symposium

Welcome
We are pleased to announce the 3rd International Integrative Nursing Symposium, which will be held from May 22-24, 2019 in Galway, Ireland. The 2019 theme is “Leadership and Innovation in Nursing.”
As with earlier Symposia in Iceland and the United States, we look forward to convening nurses from around the world who are committed to whole person/ whole system care and healing.
Plenary speakers and topics include:
-
Dr. Brendan McCormack - Person-centered care
-
Dr. Michael Shannon - Leadership
-
Lori Knutson - Building integrative care models
Additionally, Janet Quinn will lead, “The Way of the Healer,” a pre-conference learning experience. There will also be a pre-conference workshop on integrative nursing research led by Robin Austin and Laura Kirk. (Update on 2/12/19: Both pre-conference workshops are at 90% capacity - register now to hold your spot.)
On the opening evening of the Symposium, we will feature several Irish nursing colleagues. Geraldine Murray will be presenting on the legacy of Irish nursing leader Peta Taaffe, and Drs. Martin McNamara and Sean Teeling will be discussing integrative nursing in Ireland.

The Galway Bay Hotel will host this Symposium, and is an outstanding venue for our gathering. Located on the sea, you can get up in the morning and walk the promenade before breakfast or at sunset. The food is lovely and the meeting rooms and comfortable guest suites were recently upgraded. Consider a side trip before or after the Symposium to explore the Great Atlantic Way or any number of other amazing destinations. While in Galway, you can access many tours – including a walking food or cultural tour! Galway is also home to many fine restaurants and cafes.
We encourage you to register now for the conference as soon as possible, and look forward to seeing you in Galway.
